The Wild Rose 2 Wind Farm Project is registered on the Alberta power pool and identified by the Alberta Electric System Operator as WIR1. The Project is connected to the Elkwater 264S substation. The Project will generate electricity by transforming the wind's kinetic energy into electrical energy. Energy generated from the wind is renewable, and no emissions are created as a direct result of this process. There are some GHGs associated with the operation of a wind-powered facility (e.g., electricity for site service buildings and fuel for maintenance vehicles). These are minor relative to the Project’s output. Wind-powered electricity has a very low emissions intensity.
