Chem Solar is a collection of 4.6 MW (AC) average power solar photovoltaic (PV) cells that convert sunlight into renewable electricity. Renewable electricity displaces electricity from the grid, offsetting a portion of Scotford Chemical’s energy consumption needs. Chem Solar offsets the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from fossil fuel-based electricity production in Alberta.
