Bluesource Methane Reduction Program: Pool Foxtrot
The Bluesource Methane Reduction Program “the Program”, is helping oil and gas companies efficiently and quickly meet and exceed increasingly stringent methane venting control requirements established by both Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) by deploying various technologies to reduce methane emissions. The Program plays an important role in helping Alberta and Canada meet the Federal government’s objective of a 45% reduction in vented methane emissions from the oil and gas sector by 2025.The opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the Program arises through the direct reduction of natural gas (methane) venting from pneumatically driven devices. Vented gas from pneumatic devices can be reduced by converting them to either a low or no bleed alternative, instrument air, an electrically powered alternative or by capturing the vent gas.
