The purpose of the project is to quantify GHG emission reductions resulting from conversion of natural gas-powered devices to compressed air-powered devices in the oil and gas industry. Projects will greatly reduce pneumatic gas venting at multiple sites located in Alberta, where natural gas is used as the primary fuel gas.
Site data will be aggregated for all subprojects for reporting purposes. Carbon offset credits are generated in accordance with the “Quantification Protocol for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction From Pneumatic Devices”, Version 2.1 (May 2020).
This project achieves the highest possible accuracy by monitoring:
• Volume of compressed air used in the project condition
• Site-specific gas composition
This enables Radicle to calculate the precise mass of methane that would have been vented had the conversion project not occurred.
Subprojects fulfill all criteria listed in Section 1.2 “Protocol Scope” of the Quantification Protocol for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction From Pneumatic Devices Version 2.1 (May 2020).
