Enhance Energy CO2-EOR Project at Clive Field

Description:

This project sequesters CO2 that is captured from industrial facilities that report greenhouse gases under Alberta provincial greenhouse gas regulation for large emitters and results in the sequestration of CO2 that would otherwise have been released to the atmosphere. Enhance Energy has obtained an Enhanced Oil Recovery Approval from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) under Directive 065 – Resources Applications for Conventional Oil and Gas Reservoirs for the Clive Field (Approval No. 12832B) and Section 39 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act, and meets the requirements outlined under Directive 051: Injection and Disposal Wells – Well Classifications, Completions, Logging and Testing Requirements. This project is aligned with the CO2 EOR scheme Approval No. 12832B and the geologic pool(s), specified as the Approval area. The CO2 sequestered is included in the total regulated emissions reported by the regulated industrial source facilities, the Sturgeon Refinery and the Nutrien fertilizer plant.
