The main purpose of this portfolio is to generate carbon offset credits in support of the Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation by aggregating renewable energy generation from solar photovoltaic projects at City of Calgary owned facilities. The City of Calgary has 16 solar arrays at various facilites, with a total generation capacity of 3,072 kW. Each individual project within this portfolio is eligible for and has been reviewed under the “Quantification Protocol for Distributed Renewable Energy Generation”.
