BMO Radicle Vent Gas Reduction Project B

The purpose of the Project is to quantify GHG emission reductions resulting from the conservation or destruction of previously vented gas from equipment in the oil and gas industry. The Project and its associated subprojects occur at oil and gas sites regulated by Directive 060 (“D060”) and include emission reductions that are not required by D060 or subject to carbon pricing under any other policy mechanism. The project activities may include destruction of vented gas via an incinerator, combustor, or pre-existing flare. They may also include gas conservation, such as capture for re-injection into a sales gas pipeline or stationary fuel combustion for heat or power generation. All projects reduce or eliminate natural gas venting to the atmosphere in Alberta. The Project and its associated subprojects fulfill all criteria listed in Section 1.1 “Protocol Scope” of the Quantification Protocol for Vent Gas Reduction (Version 1.0, November 2021) (“the Protocol”).
