Aggregated Project for Vent Gas Reduction - Heavy Oil 2024

The purpose of the Project is to reduce GHG emissions by conserving solution gas from being vented into the atmosphere. The Project will reduce the venting of solution gas from sites to less than the OVG (15,000 m3/month) and/or DVG (3,000 m3/month) and/or Crude Bitumen Fleet Average (CBFA) (1,500 m3/month) per site where the CBFA is applied. This Project is applicable only for emission reductions that are not subject to carbon price and are not required by the Directive 060. The Project will reduce solution gas venting at multiple sites located in Alberta. Site data will be aggregated for all subprojects for reporting purposes. Carbon offset credits are generated in accordance with the Quantification Protocol for Vent Gas Reduction, Version 1.0 (November 2021) (“The Protocol”).
